With our very own premises, it marked a new milestone in the history of our Association, as the economy of the country gradually improved then; it augured well for the Association with more and more activities being carried out successfully.

In 1998 under the leadership of the third Chairman Loke Mun  Leong the Association organized teams of delegates to visit our fellow Associations in other states to promote goodwill. It also played host to foreign manufacturers and visitors by holding dialogues with friendly exchange of ideas and information.

In order to improve the management skills and upgrade the knowledge of our members, the association organized seminars such as "Debt Handling of our members, the Association organized seminars such as "Debt handling and legal procedures governing debt recovery", "Taxation and Financial Management", "The Prospects of Motor Spare Parts Trade", etc. The association also held meetings under the business sub-committee to discuss the various problems faced by the industry. It also organized an 8 day visit to Vietnam and held dialogues with the representatives of their chamber of commerce and industry.

In order to enable our members to familiarize with the locally manufactured spare parts, our members also visited the factories of Malaysia sheet glass, proton assembly plant, APM and New Hoon Fatt.

Under the auspices of the various sub-committees we held badminton, bowling and golf tournaments, family day and annual Chinese new year get-together. We also printed special editions of the 17th, 21st, and 25th anniversaries, eight editions of membership directory and members hip certificated. The association also held dialogues with traders' of the motor cycle spare parts to enhance our mutual understanding.
