German automobile company Volkswagen has announced that Andreas Meurer will assume responsibility for controlling and co-ordinating group communications, effective September 1, 2008. The company has also made other management changes.
Mr Meurer will report to Stephan Gruhsem, general representative of Volkswagen and head of group communications, external relations and investor relations. The company has also announced that Peik Bestenbostel takes over from Mr Meurer as head of the corporate and business section at group communications.
Mr Bestenbostel was business editor at Bayerischer Rundfunk before joining BMW, where he was head of corporate communications. Mr Bestenbostel then moved to Siemens as head of media relations and most recently head of policy development. He will also report to Mr Gruhsem.
